 Bhramori’s Questions
What’s your favourite eye colour?

Blue eyes.  Actually anything that is a color that is not brown or black, I like. There is nothing wrong with having black or brown eyes–I have dark brown eyes, but I find them too common and kind of boring.

Any peculiar reading habits?

In most books, generally young-adult books with a female heroine, I imagine myself  as the main character in the story. I hope I’m not the only one who does this….In The Hunger Games damn straight I imagined myself as Katniss at some point, especially in her badassery moments.

Favourite festival?

I actually don’t go to any festivals so I can’t say I have a favorite.

Earliest childhood memory?

Hmmm the one that comes to mind right now was when I climbed a tree and fell down. I believe I was six or seven at that time. I have a huge scar on the back of my thigh to remind me how much of a reckless child I was.

A book you keep recommending you everyone you meet?

I usually don’t recommend books right off the bat when I meet someone. I would usually ask them what kind of books they like to read and from there, I try my best to recommend a book that would suit their taste.

Your biggest fear?

Not being able to overcome my fears.  Everyone has fears–whether it’s a fear of clowns, spiders, growing old and alone, or death, which to me is normal.

Anything that you would like to change about yourself?

Whether we want to admit it or no, everyone desires a change. On the physical aspect I would like to be taller. I only stand at 5 feet. In addition, I would also like to weigh more since I don’t gain weight no matter how I hard I try to. However, its genetics for me so there’s really nothing that I can change about that.  Other than that, I’d like myself not to overthink too much about everything. It causes me a lot of stress when I think too much which is usually not a good thing.

Your favourite types of fictional males?

It will actually depend on the book that I am reading. At times I swoon over the sweet and nice guy. Then I also like the alpha male–not the asshole, crazy, possessive alpha male though…I like the bad boy with a kind heart. Though this is totally unrelated to the question, in real life, I like Mr. Nice Guy with a sense of humor and just a hint of “bad” too. 😉

First book you remember reading?

Cinderella. My mom use to buy me these fairy tale books because she knows how I loved reading about princesses and all that happily ever after stories.

Your favourite character names?

I like the odd names..

Probably all The Hunger Games character names, Holden Caulfield, Blue Sargeant, Humbert Humbert, Oliver Twist, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore and everyone else in the Harry Potter World, Count Olaf, Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, Anna Karenina, Sherlock Holmes, Lolita, Algernon, Atticus Finch, Percy Jackson….

Lizette’s Questions
What book has impacted you the most?

One too many. It’s usually a book with great philosophy or a memoir, biography, autobiography of someone who faced adversity and terrible conditions. Among these books include: The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank, Night by Elie Wiesel, Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah, The Alchemist by Paul Coelho, For One More Day by Mitch Albom, The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupery

What book/series got you into reading?

I started reading at a young age. The first books that I read were fairy tale books, so you can say they were the ones that got me started reading, but I had this obsession with Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events so that one too.

Which book should be made into a TV series?

Since I just recently finished this and quite enjoyed it, I’d like Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi.  However, I heard that it’s being optioned for a TV series so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it pulls through.

You (I) love when a book…

Has a happy ending.  Of all the possible answers I could have come up with, yea I decided to go with the most random one.  As cliche as that may be and even at times unrealistic I love my happy endings. I will say that there have been books that I read that had tragic endings–some totally unnecessary, some just didn’t make sense, some I just totally hated. Nevertheless, I think there were some sad endings that I can totally accept, but I just like my happy ending….

Thoughts on bunnies??

Aren’t they just one of the cutest little things?!!! Other than a puppy/dog, I’d have bunnies as my second favorite to have as a pet.

Do you believe children should be introduced to reading at a young age rather than electronics?

Yes. Nowadays I see so many kids, as young as three years old whose eyes are focused on a tablet or whatever they used nowadays to play games. I am aware that certain kids do need them for a specific reason, but there are those who just use them for fun. Nevertheless, I always think that balance is fine. For parents (depending on your parenting style..) I think that you should allow them to use electronics but don’t spoil them with it. I am not a parent, but if I have kids I will prioritize in having them read first since I, myself started reading at a very young age…Using electronics should probably be more of a reward if they do something good.

(see question above) Why or why not?

Ooops I guess I kind of answered that already in the previous question.

Why did you start to blog?

I just wanted a platform to write my thoughts.

I dislike when bookstores…

Don’t have the book that I am looking for.

I read because…

It’s just one of the few things that keeps me entertained as well as  keeps me learning whether it’s new knowledge, or about life…I always get something out of the books that I read. Some of the books that I have read has allowed me to look at things in different perspectives and made me more open minded.

Alexandra’s Questions
Why did you start blogging?

I just wanted a platform to write my thoughts.

What is your favorite thing to write about?

Topics that are book-related.  Since I am a book blogger I love talking about books.

If you have traveled, what was your favorite place to visit? If you haven’t traveled, where do you want to go?

The beautiful beaches in the Philippines- I actually forgot their names, but the Philippines have some really nice beaches.

What is something about you that would surprise someone?

This always brings shock to everyone I meet. Every time I tell someone I am Filipino, they are always surprised and at times give me the whole ” I don’t believe you.” look. They usually would assume I am either Hispanic or I’m mixed.

Flats or high heels?

It depends on the occasion but I definitely have love for heels.  For comfort obviously flats. For an event that requires me to wear a nice outfit, then definitely heels.

What is something you are afraid of?

Not being able to meet the goals that I set for myself.

Another one is driving over the bridge. I get so paranoid because I think that one day a sudden earthquake will cause the bridge to collapse….and of course you know what would happen. I live in California so earthquakes can occur. See I’m that paranoid.

Are you a dog person or a cat person?

Definitely a dog person. When I lived in the Philippines I owned three dogs and are all named by color. I was four at that time so I wasn’t that creative.

What is your favorite season and why?

Spring because it’s not too hot, and not too cold. I like the warmer weathers and the flowers are in bloom so that’s great for scenery. I like fall too. Winter being my least favorite.

Describe an outfit that makes you feel confident every time you wear it.

I don’t think I have that “outfit” to give a definite answer. My fashion sense is honestly all over the place. I would be wearing shorts and a nice shirt in one day, to a dress/skirt with heeled sandals or wedges, sometimes even my gym clothes because I’m that lazy and I like comfort. However, I guess the most times I felt “confident” is when I wear a really nice dress.

Speaking of confident, describe a moment when you felt really proud of yourself!

When I graduated from college. I am the second person in my family to graduate from college and the fact that my family was proud of me, makes me proud.

Amy’s Questions

What’s the last film you saw at the cinema?

Surprisingly the film wasn’t actually a trainwreck. My friends wanted to watch it so I just tagged along and I really wanted to see Lebron James act.  Not exactly my type of humor, but it was funny nonetheless, if you get the jokes……

Do you write notes in your books?

It’s one of my biggest pet peeves, so no I don’t write in my books. The only exception may be in the textbooks that I used while I was in university, but that didn’t occur often.

Do you have a favourite comedian?

If we’re talking about stand up comedy, then no I actually don’t. Sorry I couldn’t give a definite answer.

What song did you last listen to?

Oh my goodness..HAHA

It’s Black Magic by Little Mix whom I just found out about. The song is really catchy and I can’t stop listening to it.

What is your favourite closing line in a book or film?

I have one too many actually. This post has some of my favorite closing lines  Favorite Best Closing Lines.

Maria’s Questions
What got you into reading?

Reading in general? Definitely the moment my mom bought me fairy tale books like Cinderella.

Where is your favourite place to read?

At home but specifically in my room, on my bed, surrounded by my fluffy pillows.

Do you have a group where you exchange different books with each other?

Actually I’ve never had that experience before since I’m not involve in any book clubs from where I live or anything that it makes it possible to exchange books. I can’t exchange books with my friends either since most of them don’t even read.

If you could pick a world from all the books you have read, which world would you live in?

Harry Potter hands down! I think my Hogwart’s letter got lost somewhere.

If you could bring back one author, who would it be?

Hmm definitely one of the great classic authors. Even though he’s not an ultimate favorite, I would love to have a talk with William Shakespeare. He and I could go watch his plays and he can explain everything to me!

What are your views on today’s trend of books (mental illness, suicide, etc.) Is it educating readers or confusing them?

I think they are totally fine. However, it’s really up to the reader on how they interpret with said topic. I read Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, but I personally don’t think it portrayed suicide in a way that it should be. For me I found that Jay Asher glamorized it; however that is my own opinion. If an author portrays mental illness, suicide, etc.. in a manner that it is educational then I’m totally for it. Don’t romanticize these kinds of problems in fiction. On another note, from personal habit, I tend to be skeptical when I read books like this.

What book have you been pressured to read?

Oh gosh, would you be surprised if I said Twilight? It was indeed Twilight and I caved. All of my girl friends in high school kept forcing me to read it because of how great it was and it was cool because it was about vampires–hot vampires..

What book you want to pressure people to read?

I never like pressuring anyone to do anything, be it  as simple as reading a book. If the person doesn’t want to read a book or a particular book then I don’t find it a loss on my part.  Of course being an avid reader, I would love an individual to have reading as a hobby or read a favorite book of mine, but hey you can’t do anything about it. All I can say is that they could definitely be missing out.

A book that made you cry buckets.

One too many. Here’s a post that mentions books that made me cry  Books That Had Me Reaching Out for a Box of Tissues

Worst movie adaptation ever?

There are very few movies that I would actually consider good adaptations while there are too many that I would consider terrible. My pick would be A Series of Unfortunate Events. I absolutely loved the books but the movie was just so disappointing. Who honestly thought that it was okay to cast Jim Carrey as Count Olaf?! I’m sure there are even worst, but I was just so upset with this one.

Trisha Ann’s Questions
Asia or Europe?

Europe!! I do love the Asian culture, but Europe is my absolute dream vacation. I want to go see the beautiful architect, see the beautiful arts of Paris,  go to what looks like a boring gondola ride just because, make a wish on the Trevi fountain, eat gelato, see the Northern Lights, see the beauty that nature has to offer in Switzerland, bike around Amsterdam, explore the Old Town Square of Prague, ……honestly I could go on and on with this. Oh how I wish I won the lottery and travel costs would definitely not be an issue.

Harry Potter or Twilight?

Twilight what? Definitely Harry Potter. I grew up reading the series and no vampire books can ever debunk my love for this wonderful series.

Day or night person?

I will admit I am actually not a morning person, so definitely a night owl.

Coffee or hot cocoa?

I’ve always been hot cocoa type of girl, but ever since they had Starbucks at my university I had become a caffeine addict.  It also does not help that my mom bought this amazing instant cappuccino mix that I can’t seem to stop drinking every morning.

Loud and punk or slow and mellow music?

I think I can do loud and punk depending on my mood, but I think I am more into slow and mellow music–classical, ballads, RnB.

Crammer or ahead the deadline?

I have had my moments of being a crammer especially when I was stressed out during some of my quarters at university. However, generally I’m the very organized and plan ahead type of person. I make a to do list to keep me on task as well as reminder alerts. When it comes to exams I always study a week or two ahead…..

Young adult or new adult?

I didn’t start reading new adult books until maybe last year.  I think both has different to offer and it would depend on my mood.  However, if you had to make me choose then hand downs young-adult. I think it is more broad when it comes to plot. For new adult books, they tend to be the same in which the plot can be trivial—just plain romance. However, I am only speaking from the type of new adult books that I have read.

Fairy tale ending or non-fairy tale ending?

Remember in one of the questions I answered that I loved books with happy ending. Even though I am a realist, I think at times I’d like a fairy tale ending because at times fantasy is always better than reality. Unfortunately this only happens in fiction…..However, I can also understand the non-fairy tale ending for certain books.

Couch potato or go-getter?

Go-getter.

Greasy Big Mac or freshly-picked greens?

Would it surprised you if I said neither? I actually don’t like Big Macs and I don’t even consider salad a meal so it’s really a lose-lose situation for me. But I’m  a meat kind of girl so I guess if I had no choice but to pick one then a greasy big mac. I know, I know—unhealthy!

Lia’s Questions
What is the last movie you watched?

I think I answered this question already and it was Trainwreck.

What is your favorite book trilogy and why?

I have too many, but since I just added it to my favorite list it would be Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. Please don’t question my taste right now. HAHA

What is the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning?

“What should I eat for breakfast?”

If you could eat lunch with one famous person, who would it be?

Ooooh this is tough. Sorry don’t have an answer for this.

Who is your favorite fictional character?

Ahhh these dreaded “favorites” questions. I actually have too many. I just recently watched Mulan (I don’t know how many times I watched the movie) but I pick her right at this moment as I am typing….

What is your favorite place to read?

Definitely my room.

What is your favorite childhood memory?

When I wrote a poem and read it in front of the whole school. I’m not much for public speaking, but that took guts for little five year old me.

When did you last laugh?

When two of my colleagues and I had a discussion about Titanic and how Rose could have saved Jack from drowning by sharing the darn plank! While it may not be plausible because of “physics” but it was a good laugh.  I mean the script says he dies, so he dies…

What is your dream?

To be happy and just be content with everything that I have.

What is the last thing you watched on TV

This episode of Pretty Little Liars. Honestly when the heck are we even gonna find out who A actually is?!

Carolyn’s Questions
Your OTP just got married! What fictional world do you send them to for the perfect honeymoon? Which OTP?

Goodness how do I even decide which OTP I want to send on a honeymoon since I have too many. I’d probably send them on a tropical island….boring I know but it seems ideal. Sorry I couldn’t give a definite answer for this question.

You are having a bad day. Which fictional character do you go to for an inspirational pep talk?

Dumbledore or Atticus Finch (I’m talking about the Atticus Finch in TKAM). Because they are so wise, I think they will always say the right thing.

What is your favorite scene in your favorite book of 2015 (so far)?

The cute scenes between Juliette and Warner from Unravel Me and Ignite Me.  Don’t ask. HAHA

You have just received a million dollars to spend on your personal library. What would it look like?

I always imagined my personal library to look like the one in Beauty and the Beast. I don’t think that this picture does justice, but with Belle’s amazed expression it is enough for me to know that library is stunning.

If you could read one new release right now what would it be?

I need that last book of The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater right now!  I want to know the fate of everyone!  Will Blue kiss Gansey without killing him?! Adam and Ronan? So many questions….

What book did you read that came to you at just the right time?

The contemporary romance genre, lately has been been a huge disappointment for me. While I don’t really read this very often, there are moments that I’m just in the mood for fluff. However, in the past few weeks, no young adult romance book has impressed me or at least entertained me until now. I was in the mood for a cute romance book and I enjoyed this a lot. The story is totally something that I totally am a sucker for–pretend bf/gf and they end up falling in love.  As cliche and cheesy it is, it’s a guilty pleasure. It was a cute read though the ending felt rushed.

What is your favorite bookish item (not a book)?

My cute tiny bookshelf that is sitting in my living room. I even assembled it myself with a little bit of assistance from my mom.  Every time I look at it, I just love how my books look pretty on this particular shelf. My other two shelves are just in a complete disarray.

What is a type of person that you would normally like in real life but would probably hate as a character in a book?

Hmm interesting question. It’s easier to say who I would hate in real life but love in fiction because I have quite a few of those. I’d probably pick the quiet and shy one. This may make me seem hypocritical since I am somewhat a shy person–it’s usually when you just first meet me but when you get to know me–definitely not..But anyways I picked this one because I just think I would be so annoyed reading a character like that. They would be so boring.

Your most recent favorite quote from a book?

This one is from Shadow Kiss (The Vampire Academy #3)

“You will lose what you value most, so treasure it while you can.”

While this quote is read more like a threat in the actual context, but when you think about it it’s basically saying that treasure something while you can because you don’t realize their value until they are gone.

What is a book that you think would make a great game? (can be any game: video, computer, app game)

I would pick a book that probably will require you to survive or something like The Hunger Games.  I know I’m sure there are more creative ideas there, but that’s the best I could come up with that would somehow at least make an interesting concept.

Deanna’s Questions
Name the person you would most like to read a memoir of and why.

Honestly, I barely read memoirs since they don’t interest me much. I feel bad for saying that, but unfortunately it’s the truth, even if it’s of someone I really look up to, famous or not. I’ve always liked reading short stories from their lives, but never an entire novel. So as of now I can’t think of someone right now….sorry.

What book are you most looking forward to being released this summer? (winter)

Winter by Marissa Meyer.

Do you like sharing paperback/hardback books with others?

I’m sorry but this gif had me laughing so hard… But unfortunately as cruel as I may seem I don’t like lending my books. I know I have trust issues…..when it come to my beloved books.

If you wrote a book, what would it be about?

How to not Write A Book because I obviously would all know about that…I could never write a book. I am limited and very much lacking in that department.

Who is your ultimate book boyfriend?

I have a few, but the closest thing to an ideal that I could think of right now would probably Wes from The Truth About Forever. (he was my forever teenage girl crush in books) Sorry Warner…you were obsessed and crazy at first….

How long does it usually take you to read a book?

It depends on the book I am reading and also the mood I am in. At times I would go a week without reading a book while other times I would read two to three books in a week. Generally for a long book especially with classics it takes me a week or two.

Do you like being book tagged? Why or why not?

Yes I do. Who doesn’t? Tags are a great way to learn more about the blogger, but also I find it a convenience especially when I don’t know what to post about.

Do you believe unicorns exist?

I am a unicorn!! HAHA  Umm..but yes I’d like to believe they exist but their mythical creatures so it’s quite impossible.

Which celebrity do you wish was your best friend?

Honestly these things never cross my mind, but I would love to have Emma Watson as my best friend. She’s so smart and witty;and she has an English accent! I would let her talk and I just listen. HAHA

What is your favorite song at the moment?

I’m currently addicted to listening to Charlie Puth’s Marvin Gaye song. While the lyrics isn’t exactly the most appropriate especially if you get the meaning of the song, but I love the whole classic feel to it.

Shriya’s Questions
What’s your favorite TV show and why?

Sorry but with these favorite questions I will never have a definite answer. LOL Some of my favorite shows include Criminal Minds, Bones, Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries, Game of Thrones, just to name a few.

If you ever had the chance to wipe a book/series off the face of the Earth (I know, it’s sad), what would you choose to destroy?

Honestly, none. Even if it’s a book that I have an irrational disdain for, I would never consider of getting rid of it. Sorry but reading Fahrenheit 451 made me realize the importance of books and it’s devastating to even think of a society where reading a book is forbidden and get burned if you own them…I knew I kind of went topic with this question….HAHA

What genre do you read the least books of?

Definitely non-fiction. I am more of fiction kind of girl. They are definitely more entertaining for me.

Do you tend to like the book or the movie adaptation of the book more?

The saying “the book is better than the movie” holds true for the most part. I know there are movies that were actually better than the books in my opinion. The best thing about the movies is the fact that you get to see everything come to life and actually see it visually instead of just imagining it. Nevertheless, I will always tend to like the book more because of its detailed description and important parts that may not be covered in a film adaptation.

If you only got to say ten words to your favorite author, what would they be?

Well since they are dead.. I’d say “I wish you weren’t dead”  Sorry I can’t be hilarious.

If you were stranded on an island and could only bring one book for company, what would it be?

Definitely a funny book–probably a chick lit novel by Sophie Kinsella. When I am along stranded on island I gotta make sure I’d be laughing and not crying!

What is your favorite most recently watched movie?

Mad Max. I just recently watched it and it was a good action packed movie.

Which Disney princess is your favorite and why?

Oh goodness another favorite question. HAHA Truthfully all of them. Each Disney princess possess qualities that I really like so no definite answer for this one.

What is your earliest memory of reading?

When my mom bought me my first fairy tale book which was Cinderella. I was so excited that I read it, every day until my mom bought me a new book.  That’s how much I loved reading and the book.

If you could choose one book to become a classic, which book would you choose?

Definitely the Harry Potter series.  Honestly, I think this could be possible someday in the future.

Questions For My Nominees
If you were to be granted three wishes what will be your three wishes be and why? And no, you can’t try to be clever and wish for more wishes. 😉
What book/series do you believe is highly overrated?Underrated?
If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses (see, smell, touch, taste, and hear) which one would you give up and why? (I know this may be tough, but I’m curious as what you would all say)
What are some of the common tropes in these books that you are tired of seeing? What are some that you absolutely will never get tired of seeing?
There’s a saying that ” the book is always better than the movie”.  However, there are rare instances that this may not be the case.  Was there a film adaptation that you thought was much better than the actual book?
What makes a book your favorite? Is it the plot, the characters, is it because it changes your life/inspirational, or is it down to memory and circumstance, etc…..
In your opinion who is the worst literary couple ever?
Who is your favorite book villain and why?

  1. LOL. That Beauty and the Beast library is so iconic! Trust issues are totally allowed when it comes to the book babies. 😉

And, of course, I don’t mind! Thanks for crediting me (though the original graphic wasn’t really mine to begin with).

    1. Isn’t it?! Every time I think of a beautiful library Beauty and the Beast always comes to mind. 🙂

Oh oops! Regardless, the idea of siblinghood was from you. 😉

      1. I also love it when books mention characters that have big libraries. Like in City of Glass (I think that’s the right book) and Jace’s childhood manor.

Haha, yeah… I just added Siblinghood to the logo. Easy peasy stuff. 😛

  3. I would totally go to Dumbledore when I’m feeling down too! And my answer for “What is a type of person that you would normally like in real life but would probably hate as a character in a book?” which is a shy/quiet person. I feel like it’s been overdone and I like reading about strong personalities more 🙂

    1. The moment I saw that question he was the first person that popped up in my mind. I mean it’s Dumbledore, right?! Who wouldn’t go to him for some inspirational talk.

I agree. I’ve read a lot of it in fiction and unfortunately it’s still a common trope. Those with strong personalities are much more entertaining to read about. 🙂
