Struggles That Book Lovers Will Probably Understand

Because I’m having writer’s block and thought I would post something really simple that mostly requires me to use only GIFs…..

When some people assume that you have no social life outside of reading books.

Or when non-readers just don’t understand the importance of books in your life.

Yea at times I even like them more than you, humans… 😉

When you’re the only one in your circle of friends who loves to read.

I need someone to fangirl with!

When someone asks you what your favorite book is and expecting you to pick just ONE book!!

Not having enough space for your books.

Or wanting to buy more books, but have no money.

Buying a book just because it has a pretty cover.

Though it’s not a guarantee you will enjoy the book. (and they’re not exactly cheap either!)

Or when you’re at a bookstore and you want to buy all the new releases but they are expensive.

So you have to weigh pros and cons for each book since you can probably only afford one or two out of the 20 something books you want!

When you can’t figure out what to read next because they all appeal to you.

I have this problem all the time, so I usually end up reading more than one book at a time.

When people try to talk/interrupt you while reading.

Please go away!

When people ask you if they can borrow your book.

Sorry not sorry….

The desperate urge to talk to strangers just because they are reading your favorite book.

I promise I’m not weird!

When you have start crushing on a fictional character and everyone else in real life seems to pale in comparison.

Please be real….

Or the worse thing happens and your favorite fictional character dies.

I’m looking at you Ms. Rowling, Ms. Roth,……….

When you watch the film/tv adaptation, and find out that you’ve been pronouncing a character’s name wrong the whole entire time you were reading.

Oh so it’s Toe-Bye-Us not Toe-Bee-Us…..SERIOUSLY I was pronouncing it wrong until the damn movie came out.

Making a literary reference and no one gets it.

CBS

When someone spoils the ending for you.

Waiting for the sequel

The moment of total sadness you experience when a book ends because you feel like you’ve just left a world you were completely consumed by.

    1. HAHA thank you! Glad to know that you found this post hilarious. 😀

Right?! I was like holy crap I’ve been pronouncing it wrong…It’s okay though. I call him Four so his real name is irrelevant to me HAHA

  1. Ah, yes, the “what’s your favorite book question”. Even when I was little I would always answer “I don’t know,” to people, because it would be like choosing a favorite child. I used to get in trouble for it, too, because my Mom isn’t a bookworm and she just thought I was trying to avoid the question.

    1. Oh my gosh I hate any type of “what is your favorite…..” questions. Honestly how can you just pick that one favorite. And you make a good point on picking a favorite child. I know there are actual parents who will say that this child is their favorite but generally, they are all favorites. There’s so many books out there and so many that you read and enjoyed. So how can you expect to just choose one?!!!

  2. Omg I was just nodding along with every comment and laughing at all the accompanying gifs. All of them were so true, and that Bellatrix gif is perfection!
    Love it!

    1. Thank you! 😀 Right, like there are some complicated names in books especially in fantasy series. At times I’m like screw this I’ll just pronounce it the way I want to pronounce it. But it’s so embarrassing when you realize you were so off when you finally get to hear how it’s pronounced.

  3. I think all of us book lovers should make a pact to nerd out with total strangers who love the same books we do. I don’t care if I don’t know you, come up to me and we can talk about books! Don’t worry, I’m just as weird as you.

    1. Oh my gosh yes! We can be the weird ones together. HAHA I usually am always so hesitant in talking to people who are reading the book that I like because I am scared that they will think I’m annoying or don’t really want to talk. HAHA
