Thank you to the amazing Summer for tagging me. ❤
Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
In my bed surrounded by my fluffy pillows or sometimes the balcony of my apartment.
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Before it use to be a piece of paper or a post-it. However, I realized that my books are special and definitely deserve a bookmark and not just a piece of paper that I tore off of my notebook. HAHA Here are just some of the bookmarks that I use.
Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?
My rule is to stop after a chapter, but at times the chapters can get too long that I do stop at a random page. If that happens I just make sure that it’s in a new paragraph…
Do you eat or drink while reading?
I only drink water, but because I am so immersed in my reading, eating or drinking doesn’t even cross my mind anymore. But there are rare occasions when I do eat and drink; however, I’m so engrossed that I end up multitasking….reading a page while stuffing food in my mouth. HAHA
Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
I am actually good at multi tasking. The only time I can’t concentrate is when people are talking. People always find it weird that I am able to listen to music or have the TV on while I’m reading. It’s whatever to me, unless it’s super loud and really causing a disturbance.
One book at a time or several at once?
Several at once. I know people who claim that they get confused while reading multiple books, but I don’t think that really happens to me. But I do like variety–so I tend to choose books in different genres. Often, I would even read one physical book while the other an e-book.
Reading at home or everywhere?
Nowadays I just tend to read at home. Nevertheless, I tend to find myself reading elsewhere when I need to occupy myself something– i.e on a train ride to the city, waiting while on jury duty (to my dismay), or just waiting in general.
Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Okay I will admit I have read a passage or two in certain books and recorded myself. HAHA I wanted to hear how I sounded like so that’s why I read at loud. However, definitely silently in my head. I just find it weird reading out loud.
Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
I skim…when the pace of the story is really slow because I’m just that bored. I’ve read the endings for some books before, and honestly never regretted it.
Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
My books are my babies so definitely keeping it like new; however, it’s difficult when it comes to paperback editions. I try to be really careful when I’m reading a paperback edition because they aren’t as sturdy as hardbacks.
Do you write in your books?
Like the actual pages inside the books? Then no. I do write on my book, but just to put my name on it and it’s inside the back cover of the book.

I’m the same as you when it comes to reading or having the TV on while reading. As long as the book is good, I don’t get distracted. I like the background noise. I also read multiple books at once. I, like you, tend to pick ones from different genres, so it’s really easy not to get them confused. Loved reading your answers!

Thank you! 🙂
I mean I like the silence as well when I read, but it’s never a problem if there is a bit of background noise.

Haha, skimming is totally allowed! 😉 I used to write my name in my books like you but I stopped doing that for some reason. I probably got lazy. 😛 And those bookmarks made another appearance; they’re gorgeous!

We do! I can’t tell you how many times I read aloud a passage to myself- usually if it’s one that really just stands out and I want to grasp the full effect it has on me:)

Great answers! I agree that paperbacks are vert fragile and tear easy. I prefer hardbacks now, but sometimes they are the most expensive.

I totally agree. I wish I own most of my books in hardback but like you said they are rather expensive. However, I guess if you really want a book you won’t care so much for the price. HAHA

This is so true! I buy more books then Ik read, lol. I’m getting better. I told myself I’m not buying any more books until I have read half of what was on my bookshelf.

HAHA! Oh gosh, I’ve recorded myself reading out loud too! 😂 Oh gosh, how strange are we. But sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do!
I loved all these answers. I tend to find myself jumping ahead whenever things start to build up. Its like my brain wants to skip the build up and get to the action. xoxo

HAHA it’s great to hear that I’m not the only one. Indeed we have strange habits…
Oh my gosh I know what you mean. I usually start speed reading because I just want to get to the good part, unable to contain my excitement. LOL

Yeah, I remembered your post about your amazing bookmarks which look like souvenir magnets from different countries! I’m actually scouting for some in my country but unfortunately they’re not available. And yes, breaking the spine or writing on the book are just horrible. I can’t even imagine! Haha! Thanks for tagging me! 😀

Aww hopefully you will find some soon. Ahh it’s so hard not to break the spine on paperbacks…I just try to be super careful with them that’s why I would prefer them in hardback, but they are too expensive.
Your welcome. 🙂

Thank you! I will get to doing it pretty soon! 🙂
Most of your answers were like what I feel, apart from the multiple books at a time, I’ve done that in small bits but never actually read several stories simultaneously.

Exactly. I try to be super careful when reading my books especially since most of my books are in paperpack version, but it’s so difficult! This is why I would prefer to have all my books in hardback…unfortunately the price for them is just too much.
